Analysis
Naomi, Pip, and Cara carve pumpkins together. Naomi makes a casual reference to how it was lucky that her dad, Elliot, had a spare SIM card lying around for her to use, and Pip tries to hide her surprise. She invents an excuse to borrow Cara’s laptop and check the printer history. She goes to the printer and sees several documents printed, including an unsaved one from Elliot. She prints it again and sees that it’s the same warning she received.
Pip discovers the truth by accident—while investigating Naomi, Naomi was actually using one of Elliot’s SIM cards. Elliot underestimated the extent to which technology would leave behind a trail to his secrets, with the SIM card and printer history exposing him.
