Cato the Censor Character Analysis

A Roman senator from the third century B.C.E. Cato the Censor was opposed to Hellenization, or the spread of Greek culture, and he wanted to banish all Greek books from Rome. Cato’s call to ban books was fought and overruled by Scipio and the other Roman senators, and Greek books were not banned in Rome.
