Julie Hagenström is the sister of Hermann and Moritz Hagenström. The Hagenströms are neighbors with Tony’s maternal grandparents, and Tony often walks to school with Julie, though the girls share a mutual dislike for each other. Tony’s disdain for Julie only deepens as the girls grow up; she accuses Julie of shunning her after her divorce from Grünlich, though she tries to keep her head held high in the face of Julie’s judgment.
