Everyone takes turns with the power sprayer, even Willow, who can just use it at the lowest setting. They all clean until after dark. Jairo comes to help wash windows too. Eventually Jairo leaves, but the rest of them continue until three in the morning. The whole apartment complex looks much cleaner. Everyone is too sore to move for several days afterwards. Willow imagines what it will look like when her sunflowers finally begin to grow.
The strong cleaning power of the power sprayer, which they take turns using, is another symbol of how this project has helped everyone feel empowered by working together like a family. The sense of purpose that everyone gets from working together allows them to keep working even late into the evening.
