Dr. Steve Lloyd is a former opioid addict who becomes a charismatic speaker against addiction. As a doctor, he benefited from a rigorous (and expensive) recovery program that was available to him, but he argues that investing more resources into treatment could greatly improve the results for recovering addicts. He is a big believer in second chances and represents the optimism that many fighting the opioid maintain in spite of all the odds against them.
