Later, however, the school finds that Timmy turned eight earlier than his parents believed and he was therefore subject to the statutes banning the use of various letters (only children seven and under are exempt). Timmy is subsequently banished to the U.S. when Mittie cannot find anything in the school to prove that he is still seven.
