Finding Audrey: Chapter 28 Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
Audrey goes to see Dr. Sarah and says once more how much she’s improved. Dr. Sarah remains somewhat skeptical and asks Audrey if anything has happened in the past week to lead to such rapid and drastic improvement. Audrey says there’s nothing she can think of, but that’s a lie, as Audrey has stopped taking her medication. She hasn’t told anyone about stopping her meds, though, because she knows it would stress them out.
Audrey’s decision to stop taking her medication shows once more that she believes that she is “finished” healing and that her recovery process is over. In a previous section, though, Dr. Sarah reminded Audrey that the healing process has many ups and downs, underlining the novel’s idea that Audrey may be mistaken in thinking that she is fully healed.
