Summary
Analysis
In a homeless shelter, a hardened older man overhears Jesse’s name and reveals that he knew his father. Surprised, Jesse begins talking to the man and mentions that he still wonders if his father will come back. The man says, “No one told you? He’s gone, son. They got him in ’82.” Jesse loses sight of the man before he can find out what this means.
This chance encounter is a reminder of the emotional toll that Sonny’s disappearance continues to take on Jesse. “They got him” sounds like a reference to the police, but if Sonny were in prison, he wouldn’t simply be “gone.” The episode remains mysterious.
