From the Ashes: Part 3, Chapter 34: The Meaning is Gone Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
Physically depleted, Jesse ambles down the grey streets of Ottawa with all feelings of hope gone. Painfully recalling childhood memories at his grandparents’ house, he longs for some connection or sense of belonging but knows none can be found. He defecates in his pants as he walks.
This scene  surpasses Jesse’s earlier hideout in the dumpster after robbing the store in its depiction of Jesse’s total hopelessness and immiseration.
