Noah is Lamech’s son and is descended from Adam through Seth. Noah’s sons are Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Noah walks with God blamelessly and finds favor in God’s sight. When God determines to wipe out wicked humanity, he instructs Noah to build an ark in which Noah, his family, and two of each kind of creature will be preserved during the coming flood. Noah and his family live in the ark for more than 150 days, until the floodwaters have fully receded. After the flood, Noah and his sons are tasked with repopulating the earth, and God makes a covenant with them and their descendants, promising to never again destroy the earth by a flood. After the flood, Noah curses his son Ham for dishonoring him by seeing him naked. Noah dies at age 950.
