The Young German Teacher Character Analysis

The young German teacher is a young Ethiopian woman who volunteers to teach German classes at the nursing home where the refugees are initially housed. Richard finds her quite beautiful and fantasizes about her. She and Richard have a few emotional moments in which they lament the intense hardships the refugees face. She stops teaching after the classes move from the shelter to a local community college, and Richard loses touch with her.
