Summary
Analysis
After Haley finishes, Amari shows the group his drawing pad. He tells them that he’s been thinking about drawing a superhero comic that features each of them as a character with their own unique superpower. He shows them an example of a Black Panther comic and runs through each character, matching each of them to a potential power. The group walks down the hall and out of the school together, still talking.
Amari’s not doodling guns on his drawing pad anymore—instead, he seems to be focusing on the A-R-T-T group as his new source of freedom. The group’s unified exit from the school echoes their protection of Ashton, as well as Haley’s previous comparison of the group to the ant colony.
