Explanation and Analysis:

Jurassic Park is a science fiction novel. Science fiction is a type of speculative fiction; this broader genre involves the imagination of a world with different rules than the real world. Fantasy and science fiction are often grouped together because they are both types of speculative fiction, but there are important (and occasionally permeable) borders between these two subgenres. Whereas fantasy worlds typically introduce magic that could not exist in the real world, science fiction introduces "magic" or unfamiliarity that is the plausible result of scientific development in the real world. Fantasy could not happen in the real world, but science fiction plausibly could.
