Nkiruka is Little Bee’s older sister, who cares for her like a parent as well as a sister. After Nkiruka and Little Bee see the oil companies’ mercenaries destroy their village, they flee together until mercenaries chase them down. When Andrew cannot bring himself to cut off his finger, the hunters take Nkiruka away, then rape, torture, and murder her while Little Bee, hiding nearby, is forced to listen.
