Bennie Reid is a boy who goes to school with Paul. He is a fellow outcast with an interest in catching butterflies. He and Paul often ride their bikes to school together and briefly form a friendship. However, before long, they only spend time together when their parents force them to on weekends. Ultimately, Bennie grows bitter toward Paul after Paul joins Rough Stuff and becomes friendly with Jimmy, Bennie’s bully.
