Clem and Jody are two agents who are also involved in Islam Inc. Also known as “the Ergot brothers,” they are former vaudeville performers who claim to be Russian agents whose sole objective is to make the United States look bad. Some of their antics include disrupting a Muslim funeral procession in Interzone, serving wheat contaminated with ergot (a deadly fungus) at a banquet (which kills the attendees), and delivering faulty parachutes to the Ecuadorean air force. But their true objective is to weaken the Near East oil industry to bolster their Venezuelan assets.
