Though Langdon agrees with Marie’s assessment of the Grail, his intellectual curiosity is insatiable. Marie meets him halfway by revealing the Grail was once hidden in Rosslyn Chapel, citing the symbolic blade and chalice hidden in the Star of David as proof. She trusts Langdon not to tell anyone about Saunière’s message and presumes that the true location will reveal itself to him if he is clever (and worthy) enough. Sophie’s warm farewell indicates she is coming to terms with this new knowledge of her identity and making peace with her grandfather’s memory.
