Yitzchak Character Analysis

Yitzchak is a butcher with two young children, Reuven and Tzipporah, who wants to marry Gitl after his first wife dies. Gitl always refuses him, but the two maintain a lifelong friendship. When Yitzchak’s children die in the concentration camp, he, Shmuel, and some others plan an escape attempt. Yitzchak is the only one who makes it out alive, illustrating the dismal odds that Jewish people faced in concentration camps.
