Summary
Analysis
Ella. Northampton, June 9, 2008. Ella asks Michelle for a one-week extension on her report for Sweet Blasphemy. She still hasn’t told Aziz she is writing the report on his novel manuscript. Eventually, emails aren’t enough, and Ella calls to talk to Aziz on the phone. He tells her to go with the flow, but she finds it difficult to do with everything going on around her in her household.
Although Ella feels like she can open up to Aziz, she still keeps important secrets from him, like the fact that she is not just reading his manuscript but writing a report on it. This lack of openness shows that despite how Ella has changed, she is still struggling to fully transform herself and become more like Aziz.
