The eel boy Character Analysis

The eel boy was a boy from Cromwell’s childhood. The two were enemies, and during a fight, Cromwell killed the eel boy with a knife. That memory haunts Cromwell in the present and becomes a symbol of Cromwell’s regrets in life, while also underlining Cromwell’s capacity for cruelty and violence.
