Who visits Ponyboy while he's recovering after the rumble?

In The Outsiders, Randy Adderson visits Ponyboy while Ponyboy is recovering at home after the rumble, his concussion, and the deaths of Johnny and Dally.

Randy is a Soc and Bob’s best friend, so his visit is important. He comes before the court hearing and tells Ponyboy that he plans to tell the truth. He also shows concern when Ponyboy worries that he and his brothers might be separated.

Ponyboy is still struggling badly during the visit. When Randy tries to reassure him, Ponyboy insists that he killed Bob and denies that Johnny is dead. Darry then asks Randy to leave because Ponyboy is still having trouble coping. The scene shows how Ponyboy’s recovery is physical and emotional, and how the violence between Socs and greasers has damaged boys on both sides.
