Enuma is a cousin of one of Tunde’s friends, and Tunde has a crush on Enuma at the beginning of the book. He flirts with her and play-wrestles with her one day when they are alone together. However, she playfully uses her power to stun his arm, and he becomes afraid and aroused all at once as he realizes that she could do anything to him. Though she only gives him a light kiss, he becomes ashamed and confused by what happened, which spurs him to try to discover more about the power and eventually leads to his career as a journalist covering society’s transformation.
