Uncle Henry Character Analysis

Uncle Henry is Aunt Em’s husband and Dorothy’s stern father figure. He lives on a farm on the gray prairies of Kansas. Like his wife, he’s described as being just as dull and harsh as his surroundings. Dorothy doesn’t seem to be as attached to Uncle Henry as she is to Aunt Em, but she still cares for him and longs to return home to him. Uncle Henry also functions as a herald of Dorothy’s adventure, as he’s the first character to spot the approaching cyclone that whisks Dorothy away to Oz.
