Elizabeth is the nurse who cares for Dad in the hospital. She’s kind and competent; Rufus can tell that in terms of ensuring that Dad will have care after Mateo is gone, Mateo has nothing to worry about. Elizabeth also cares about getting to know Dad on a deeper level. When Mateo and Rufus visit Dad and share that it’s Mateo’s last day, she asks Mateo for stories about Dad. If Dad wakes up, she wants to know him as more than just a coma patient.
