Vox: Chapter 79 Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
Jean had planned for a quiet funeral for Patrick, but lots of people, including Olivia, Evan, and Julia, have come to the Rays’ farm. Thanks to Patrick, things are changing. It’s been a few days, but Jean still isn’t safe. Del, Sharon, and Jackie are going to stay and help rebuild the country, but Jackie encourages Jean to go, putting a hand on Jean’s belly. Lorenzo leads Jean back to the house, and Jean tells her children to pack.
Everyone seems to be coming out of a trance since Patrick took down the government, as evidenced by Pure Movement supporter Evan showing up to his neighbor’s funeral. Though Jean seems interested in helping the U.S. heal, Jackie suggests that there’s a time and a place to prioritize politics, and now is the time for Jean to heal herself and prioritize her growing family.

Jean insisted that Chris Poe tell her exactly what happened. Ironically, Morgan caused Patrick’s death: Patrick came running out of the room, yelling about a lockdown and Morgan’s memo. The guards on the White House roof shot Patrick, and Patrick smiled as the bullet hit him.
