Jefferson Thomas Character Analysis

Melba remembers Thomas, a member of the Little Rock Nine, as “quiet” and “soft-spoken.” He was an athlete and a top student in his class. She recalls that he had a “subtle” sense of humor that made people “giggle aloud” when they were “not supposed to.” Along with Carlotta Walls, Thomas is one of few members of the Little Rock Nine who graduated from Central High.
