Bryson and Katz have just attempted to hike through the intimidating Hundred Mile Wilderness, the Appalachian Trail’s northernmost stretch. It culminates at the summit of Katahdin, where they planned to end their trip. However, within the first 15 miles of the Hundred Mile Wilderness, they discover that they’re far out of their depth.
