In the Epilogue, Liz discusses her life since being accepted to Harvard University. During her time at Harvard (from which she graduates in 2009), Liz gets a visit from Lisa and Daddy. At the end of the visit, Daddy leaves Liz a note, in which he thanks Liz for keeping his dreams “safe.” One way to interpret this would be to say that Liz has accomplished all the things that Daddy himself one dreamed of. Daddy was once a successful college student, and, briefly, a graduate student. But he dropped out to become a drug dealer—a decision that arguably ruined…
