Ida is at Frank’s boarding house, confronting Rose about Hale’s death at the hands of Pinkie and his gang. Having posed as Rose’s mother in order to gain entry, Ida pulls no punches this time. She tells Rose that Pinkie is a murderer. Rose retorts that she has known that all along; she just doesn’t care.
