Tall Andras Character Analysis

Tall Andras is a young fisherman in the village where Claire washes up. He’s about 18 when Claire arrives, and he immediately decides he’d like to marry her. So, he throws himself into acting as grown-up as possible in order to impress her. But Claire isn’t interested, and when she remembers that he has a son, Tall Andras scorns her and insists she’s “stained.” He later marries another young woman, with whom he has a son.
