Jas Hammonds

About the Author

Jas Hammonds is an American author. They grew up in a military family, and as a child their family moved frequently. They have worked as a flight attendant in addition to their career as an author. Hammonds’s work, which includes their debut novel We Deserve Monuments as well as their 2024 novel Thirsty, explores themes of LGBTQ+, mixed-race, and Black identities. Hammonds is a Lambda Literary Fellow and a MacDowell James Baldwin Fellow.
