Linda Stewart Character Analysis

Linda Stewart is a young woman who is seeing Dave Harris. Miss Strangeworth overhears Linda telling Dave that he has a “dirty mind,” although Dave claims to not know what she is talking about. It is implied that the cause of this argument is one of Miss Strangeworth’s letters. After their conversation, Dave decides to deliver the letter Miss Strangeworth dropped and Linda asks, “Why do anyone a favour?”—an attitude suggesting that the town isn’t as perfect as it seems.
