The Final Guard Character Analysis

The final guard is the unnamed border officer who finally allows the narrator and his mother to cross the border into the U.S. With the lights of the camera crew shining on him, he appears to sweat as he realizes that he’s being watched. When she answers “Blackfoot” to his citizenship question, he at last accepts her answer and wishes them a good trip to the United States.
