Machines Like Me

Thomas Reah Character Analysis

In the novel’s alternate history, the character Thomas Reah is Alan Turing’s partner, with whom he lives and is openly in a relationship. Reah appears sporadically throughout the story, including when Charlie has a chance encounter with Reah and Turing, who happen to be eating at the same restaurant as Charlie and Miranda. Later, during Charlie’s visit to Turing and Reah’s home, Reah drops in to bring Turing and Charlie a bottle of wine. He appears skeptical of Charlie from the start and seems reticent to have Turing speak with him.
