Clarence Thomas Character Analysis

Chief Justice Clarence Thomas is a black man on the Supreme Court, and the second black justice in the Supreme Court’s history. Because of his academic achievements, Cedric Jennings is invited to meet with Justice Thomas. However, the meeting proves unsettling for Cedric, as Justice Thomas tries to get Cedric to set his sights lower than Brown, as he’ll “get eaten alive” there, and implores Cedric to ignore his racial identity by thinking of himself as just a man rather than a black man.
