Nails Nagel Character Analysis

Nails Nagel is the heavyweight amateur boxer whom Dingbat Einhorn promotes for a short time in the 1920s. The son of a woman who is well-known for working at a local poultry shop, Nails works in an auto-wrecking yard. Unfortunately for Dingbat, he’s a disappointment in the ring because he lacks natural talent and is more interested in the idea of being a boxer than in actually building skills. Dingbat’s attempts to promote him end in disaster.
