Summary
Analysis
Suzy thinks of how some scientists believe all moments in time exist at once. She remembers a day in fifth grade when she was in her backyard with Franny. They were playing a hand-slapping game. Suzy tried to slap the top of Franny’s hand and thinks she just grazed her, but Franny says she missed. They both laugh, then Suzy gets Franny the next time, and they laugh again.
Suzy’s ability to recall her good memories about Franny again shows how she has begun to accept Franny’s death and to move past the confusion she felt about her last interactions with Franny.
