Daisy is the Pullman's dog at the start of the novel. She loves everyone, especially August, and is extremely affectionate. Dad purchased her from a homeless man without consulting Mom, which becomes a favorite story of Dad's to tell. In the spring, Daisy begins vomiting and becomes very ill. The Pullmans must euthanize her, which comes as a huge emotional blow to all of them.
