Basano Character Analysis

Basano appears in Panfilo’s second tale (II, 7). As King of Cappadocia, he is negotiating an alliance with the Emperor of Constantinople against Uzbek. He gets more favorable terms after the Emperor discovers that Uzbek has kidnapped Constant, illustrating the political reach of fortune, whose machinations affect more than just Alatiel herself.
